Quick Update on R3 and WL

We are close to being done with the review process for Round 3. All Round 3 applicants will be able to access their decisions online on May 15.

The team and I have been painstakingly reviewing and re-reviewing waitlist files. We're looking not only at your merits, but also at how the class is shaping up. The decisions we make now are less a reflection of your fit with Ross, in general, as it is a reflection of how you may fit in the incoming class as it looks at this point in time.

Some waitlisted applicants will get a decision in the coming week; others will remain on our waitlist until additional space becomes available. We appreciate your continued interest and patience.

Shame on you Soojin Kwon Koh for keeping wait listers hanging just so that you can increase your yield just in case, just in case, you need to.

Who Cares,

They have made this process transparent. If the waitlist does not suit you, you have the option of declining placement on the list.

Who Cares,

Every school has a waitlist and the waitlist itself has nothing to do with yield. In fact if you accept people from the waitlist that means your yield is going down because an accepted student has decided not to attend Ross and a spot has opened up. The waitlist is to ensure there will be a full class at the school. If you have a 100% yield you do not need a waitlist, as everyone accepted decided to attend. A waitlist is a result of the yield not a contributing factor to the yield.

Please do not accuse Soojin of something illogical when she is trying to be forthcoming and honest. I have never seen an adcom explain how the waitlist actually works and it is refreshing.

As a Matriculating student, I look forward to seeing some of you next year. Good luck to those still waiting to hear!

Who Cares - if you have a problem with Soojin than you have a problem with all of the people you are hoping you will be future class mates with. She has been incredible in this process and Ross manages it very well. You should be honored to be on the waitlist and not complain. However if you are admitted I have to wonder if we will enjoy studying with and learning from you.

Can you write a quick update for the remaining wait listed candidates about any next steps and when they can expect to hear from Ross regarding a final decision? I know there are quite a few people who've been asking these questions and none of us have any answers.
