Warm up those tweeting thumbs, you’re going to need them on September 6 when Twitter CEO Dick Costolo and journalist Richard Lui take center stage for an interactive “fireside chat,” hosted by The U-M Center for Venture Capital and Private Equity Finance.Richard Lui via video chat from Twitter headquarters in San Francisco. The two U-M alums will cover topics that interest students and corporate leaders - covering everything from social media to life as a CEO to U-M football. During the event, we’ll gather questions from the audience via Twitter to pose to Costolo at the end of the interview. Ross professor David Brophy and U-M Ross alum Jeff Gelfand, BBA ‘88, will host the discussion from Blau Auditorium.
“You never know what Dick might say - on business, on Twitter, on anything - he always keeps it educational and interesting, if not funny and entertaining,” Lui said. “I’m secretly hoping to pick up a couple jokes from him.”

It’s not everyday that the CEO of Twitter live-streams into Ross, and we’re excited to have this opportunity to hear from a social media giant and newsmaker.
This is the second year Brophy has hosted the U-M Fireside Chats series with his Center for Venture Capital and Private Equity Finance. Previous chats and bios for both Costolo and Lui are on the U-M Fireside Chats website.
